ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship

The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund will award $5,000 of financial assistance annually to each scholarship recipient attending an ABA-accredited law school. An award made to an entering first-year student may be renewable for two additional years, resulting in financial assistance totaling $15,000 during his or her time in law school. Although each recipient will need to re-apply for the scholarship in his or her second and third year, the expectation is that the scholarship will be renewed each year if satisfactory performance in law school has been achieved. The student is otherwise eligible if funding is available. Applicants are encouraged to be members of a racial and/or ethnic minority that has been unrepresented in the legal profession, and demonstrate financial need. Arent Fox Annual Diversity Scholarship Program

Arent Fox is seeking applicants for its fifth-annual Diversity Scholarship Program. The firm will award three first-year law students $20,000. The scholarship recipients will also join Arent Fox's 2008 summer associate program. Each of the firm's three offices – Washington, New York, Los Angeles – will host one of the recipients for the summer.

Bell Association for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy

The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy is for full-time graduate students with a moderate to profound hearing loss who are attending accredited law school or a Master's or Doctoral program in public policy or public administration. The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy was established to recognize George H. Nofer's service and generosity to the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) and to the fields of law and deafness research and education. Mr. Nofer, a retired partner of the law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in Philadelphia, is a former member of the AG Bell board of directors. DRI Law Student Diversity Scholarship

DRI offers an annual Law Student Diversity Scholarship program open to second-year African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Pan Asian, and Native American students. Second-year female law students are also eligible, regardless of race or ethnicity. Students who are members of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Law School or Law Student members of ATLA, or students otherwise affiliated with or employed by ATLA are not eligible for DRI Law Student Diversity Scholarships. Earl Warren Scholarship NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund

LDF's Earl Warren Scholarship awards are $10,000 per year for three years (as long as scholars remain in good academic standing and continue to meet the scholarship criteria) for a total of $30,000. In addition to financial assistance, Earl Warren scholars are given two unique opportunities: (1) an LDF internship, externship, or guided research project—competitive positions that are sought out by dozens of students every year, and (2) an invitation to LDF’s Civil Rights Training Institute, an invitation-only annual civil rights conference that brings together civil rights advocates, scholars, and attorneys to discuss strategies and to network. Final decisions are made by the first week of August. All applicants will be notified of their status. and public interest work and to increase the number. These scholarships are awarded each year to 15-20 new students whose community involvement activities and leadership qualities demonstrate outstanding potential for training as civil rights and public interest attorneys.

General Methodist Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded on an academic year basis. A student is eligible to receive only one United Methodist scholarship during any one academic year from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) funds. GBHEM scholarships assist students from various backgrounds working toward various higher education degrees. Applicants may be enrolled at any accredited institution within the United States to be eligible. GBHEM Administers over 50 scholarship programs with varied criteria and deadlines. Makarios Scholarship Fund, Inc.

This year's scholarship awards are open to qualified applicants from the combined Endowments. The assets of the Funds consist of approximately $875,000.00 and are managed by the Investment Committee of the Cyprus Children's Fund and the Makarios Scholarship Foundation through Wachovia Securities. The major award of the Cyprus Children's Fund is the Makarios Scholarship/Theodore & Wally Lappas Award which was created in 1983 by the great benefactors of the Cypriot children, the late Theodore & Wally Lappas and is now continued by their daughter, Alexandra Lappas.

Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship Program

The Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. ("LMJ") Scholarship Program is open to "all" students who have been accepted into law school to start in the fall. The goal of the program is to promote academic excellence and diversity in law schools by awarding six newly accepted law students from disadvantaged backgrounds with scholarships to help defray their education expenses.

National Federal of the Blind Scholarship

Thomas F. Black, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Rhode Island Bar Foundation's Thomas F. Black, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1989 to support and foster high legal practice standards by assisting Rhode Island residents who show promise that they will become outstanding lawyers and who need financial assistance to study law. The Scholarship is in honor of the late Thomas F. Black, Jr., a person known for his impressive ability as a lawyer and banker, his deeply rooted legal scholarship and his notable participation in civic and charitable causes.

Eligibilty: The scholarship is a one year, non-renewable award, for full-time students who are Rhode Island residents who will be entering their first year of law school in September, 2019. For academic year 2019-2020, two scholarships in the amount of $20,000.00 each.

SBS Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to the graduate students with the highest cumulative Grade Point Average (3.8 min.). They are not renewable and are paid directly to the schools at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters.

The Diversity Scholarship is $2,000.00 and will be awarded to a student who is currently attending an accredited law school, who is a member of an ethnic, racial, or other minority, or any individual who demonstrates commitment to issues of diversity within their community.

American Association for Justice (AAJ) Mike Eidson Scholarship

The Mike Eidson Scholarship Fund was established by the AAJ Women for Justice Education Fund in 2008, in honor of AAJ Past President Mike Eidson, whose vision and generosity inspired it. The Mike Eidson Scholarship awards $5,000 annually to a female student entering her third year of law school (the student can be enrolled in a three-year day program or four-year night program) who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

Eligibilty: The winner must attend the 2017 AAJ Annual Convention in San Diego, CA in order to accept the scholarship. Travel and accommodation will be provided. See the AAJ website for the application and details.

Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholarship

The Sidney B. Williams Scholarship, from the American Intellectual Property Law Education Foundation, is for $10,000 per school year (two semesters, excluding summer school semesters and intersession) beginning with the fall semester. It is renewable, upon reapplication by the student, for up to three academic years (totaling six semesters for full-time or part-time enrollment, excluding summer school semesters and inter-sessions). Existing scholarship recipients must reapply each year.

Eligibilty: Selection Criteria 1.Scholarships are intended for students entering or attending law school in Fall 2018 or 2019. 2.Students must show demonstrated commitment to developing a career in intellectual property law. 3.High academic performance at the undergraduate, graduate, and law school levels (if applicable). 4.Demonstrated financial need. 5.General factors such as leadership skills, community activities, or special accomplishments.

American Indian College Fund - Full Circle Scholarship

Students pursuing a graduate degree at any eligible college may apply for The American Indian College Fund Full Circle Scholarships.. These scholarships are funded through our partnerships with various donors. These scholarships are administered by the American Indian College Fund and are generally based upon merit or demonstrated financial need.

Eligibilty: Minimum requirements for all American Indian College Fund Full Circle graduate scholarships include: •U.S. citizenship •Enrolled in full-time in a graduate program at an accredited tribal. public, or private (non-profit) college or university. •Registered as a member of a federal or state recognized tribe, or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled tribal member. (Alaska Natives may use Native Corporation membership.) •Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0, but many Full Circle Scholarships funded by our partners are more competitive. ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship

The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund will award $5,000 of financial assistance annually to each scholarship recipient attending an ABA-accredited law school. An award made to an entering first-year student may be renewable for two additional years, resulting in financial assistance totaling $15,000 during his or her time in law school. Although each recipient will need to re-apply for the scholarship in his or her second and third year, the expectation is that the scholarship will be renewed each year if satisfactory performance in law school has been achieved. The student is otherwise eligible if funding is available. Applicants are encouraged to be members of a racial and/or ethnic minority that has been unrepresented in the legal profession, and demonstrate financial need. The applicant's personal, family, and educational background, personal statement, and participation in community service activities will also be considered.

Eligibilty: Entering 1L, cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 grading scale) at his or her undergraduate institution, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
